We are looking for Senior Backend Developer to join our growing team.

We are looking to extend our back-end team with a Java Developer. Based in our Sofia office, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing a tech stack, consisting of a core gaming platform system and service-based application operating on top of it. The technology it is built upon is Groovy/Java/Spring. Join a collaborative and friendly team that values open-mindedness and informal interaction. What will you be doing?

• Participate in the design, extend and support the stack functionality – transactional logic, game play events, campaign and bonus logic, compliance requirements, etc.
• Assist customer support and site owners in resolving production issues in a timely manner.
• Propose and implement improvements and optimizations of the tech stack.
• Collaborate with the product owners and stakeholders on grooming and estimating stories.
• Work closely with the front-end team and BI specialists on any back-end dependencies.

Who are you?

• Proficient in Java (Java 8 or higher).
• You can demonstrate strong object-oriented programming (OOP) skills.
• Solid foundation in core computer science principles, including data structures and algorithms.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (RDBMS).
• Experienced with the Spring Framework and knowledgeable in Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP).
• Skilled in version control with Git.
• You speak both Bulgarian and English.

A big plus, but not mandatory:

• Experience with Groovy Experience with ORM (preferably Hibernate).
• Experience with MySQL (writing optimized queries, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views...)
• Skilled with Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Integration, Spring MVC, Spring Messaging
• In-Memory Caching (Reddis, Memcached, Ehcache, etc.).
• Proficient in messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, etc.
• Skilled in using mocking frameworks like Mockito, EasyMock, and Spock.
• Experienced with CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitLab.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and containerization.
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools, especially the HashiCorp stack.
• Experience in supporting production environments, analyzing logs, and monitoring via dashboards (ELK stack).
• Skilled in troubleshooting, profiling, and debugging applications.
• Knowledgeable in Agile methodologies, code reviews, and refactoring practices.
• Background in the gambling/casino industry or a strong understanding of the business domain.
