We are looking for a Head of Responsible Gaming to join our growing team, based in one of our key locations: Malta and Barcelona.
Working within the Compliance Team to ensure responsible gaming regulatory requirements for the group. The Head of Responsible Gaming is a senior leadership role who will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of responsible gaming strategies and policies to ensure that the company promotes ethical gaming practices, complies with regulatory requirements, and prioritises player safety and well-being.
What will you be doing?
1. Monitoring and Reporting:
- Develop and keep up to date data analytics and behavioral monitoring tools to track player activities and our responsible gaming strategies.
- Prepare regular reports on responsible gaming metrics and incidents for senior management, regulators, and external auditors.
2. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that the company adheres to all relevant gambling regulations and responsible gaming laws.
- Act as the company’s liaison with regulatory bodies, including responding to inquiries and ensuring timely compliance with new regulations.
3. Training and Awareness:
- Lead training programs for staff across the company, particularly customer service and operations teams, on how to recognize and handle problem gambling behaviors.
- Promote a culture of responsible gaming across all departments, ensuring that the company’s operations and interactions with players reflect responsible gaming values.
4. Collaboration with External Stakeholders:
- Work with external organizations, such as gambling addiction support groups, regulatory bodies, and industry associations, to promote responsible gaming initiatives.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, research, and technological solutions related to responsible gaming.
5. Monitoring Industry Trends:
- Keep abreast of new developments and innovations in responsible gaming, such as new tools for monitoring and protecting players, as well as changes in regulations and industry standards.
- Regularly review the effectiveness of existing responsible gaming strategies and recommend improvements.
6. Customer Communications:
- Develop and lead customer outreach programs, including clear messaging about the company’s responsible gaming policies, available tools, and resources.
- Ensure that responsible gaming messaging is integrated into the company's marketing materials, website, and customer support channels.
Who are you?
The role requires a mix of leadership, strategic thinking, and expertise in both the gaming industry and responsible gambling practices.
- Experience in the Gaming Industry: A strong background in the gambling or gaming industry, with a deep understanding of gaming operations, regulations, and player behavior.
- Knowledge of Responsible Gaming Regulations: Familiarity with the laws, rules, and best practices for responsible gaming in various jurisdictions.
- Leadership and Management Skills: Ability to lead teams, manage cross-functional projects, and collaborate with senior management and external partners.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Proficiency in data analytics tools for monitoring player behavior and identifying at-risk players.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for educating staff, engaging with external partners, and delivering clear messaging to players.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address complex ethical issues and find solutions that prioritize both company goals and player welfare.
- Certifications or Training: Certification in responsible gaming or addiction counseling (preferred but not always required).
